    Troubleshooting Send Money via PayPal

    A Send Money transfers can show up as Ready for collection if the recipient hasn't collected your transfer yet.  This could be for the following reasons:

    • The recipient has not linked their PayPal account and Microsoft account.
    • The recipient has not confirmed their email address on their PayPal account.
    • The recipient has yet to accept the payment. A recipient is required to accept or refuse a payment if it's in a different currency to the balances they currently have in their PayPal account.

    If you don’t see the Send Money icon, or you had it but it disappeared in Skype, this could be for one of the following reasons:

    • The first time you send money over Skype, you must be physically located in one of the supported countries. If not, the Send Money icon will not be visible to you. The supported countries are: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Euro-Currency* countries (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia). *Excluding Vatican City, Monaco and Lithuania.
    • You must be on the latest version of Skype on iOS or Android

    If you've checked the above and you still don't see the Send Money icon, then it's likely that we are still rolling out the feature to your country or region. Please check back as you should get access to the feature soon.

    If you've forgotten your PayPal password, please follow these steps to create a new one. 

    If you've noticed a transaction or activity you don't recognize, it may have been initiated by a family member, or it may be a part of a pre-approved payment you've authorized. If you notice a transaction that you didn’t authorize, please let PayPal know right away via the PayPal Resolution Center.

    With PayPal, you have complete control over when and how your information is shared. To stop using PayPal to Send Money, simply unlink your Microsoft and PayPal accounts.

    You can do this by signing in to PayPal and:

    1. Select Profile in the top right corner of the page.
    2. Select Pre-approved payments under Payment settings.
    3. Select Skype Money, and select Cancel.
    4. Follow the instructions to cancel the agreement.
