How do I sign in to Skype for Mac OS X with my Facebook account?

With Skype 6.0 for Mac OS X or newer, you can sign in to Skype with your Facebook account, merge your Skype and Facebook accounts and chat with your Facebook contacts directly from Skype.

You can join Skype with your Facebook account even if you've never used Skype before.

Download and install the latest version of Skype for Mac OS X.

To sign in to Skype with your Facebook account and merge the accounts:

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Click Sign in with Facebook.

    If you’ve used your Skype Name to sign in to Skype on your Mac before, you first need to click Sign in with a different account so that you can proceed with the second step.

  4. In the Facebook login window that appears, enter your Facebook email and password. Check Sign me in when Skype starts if you want to sign in automatically with your Facebook account every time you’re starting Skype.
  5. Click Log In.

  7. In the new screen, select Log In with Facebook.
  8. In the window that appears, click Allow or Skip.

If you don’t have a Skype account yet:

  1. Click I’m new to Skype to sign in with your Facebook account.

  3. Read the Skype’s Terms of Use, then click I agree – join Skype.

    You’ve just created a new Skype account and signed in to Skype with your Facebook account.

If you already have a Skype account:

  1. Click I have a Skype account. Skype will search for a match:

      • If you can see your Skype account in the list of matches, simply click it, enter your Skype account password, and then click Sign in.
      • If you cannot see your Skype account in the list or would like to use another account, click Use a different account, then enter your Skype Name and password and click Sign in.
      • If there’s no match, you are redirected to the Skype sign-in window. Just enter your Skype Name and password, then click Sign in.
         
  2. To merge your Skype and Facebook accounts, click Merge accounts.

    You are now signed in to Skype with your Facebook account and your accounts are merged.

Sign in to Skype with your Facebook account

Once you’ve merged your accounts, it’s easy to sign in to Skype with your Facebook account again:

  1. Start Skype.
  2. Click Sign in with Facebook.
  3. Enter your Facebook email and password, then click Log In.
